Crystals are classified by a number of categories: Internal lattice structure (as discussed in How Crystals Work); Outward Structure (Shape & Form); Colour and Mineral Composition.

CRYSTAL SHAPES

Let’s start with the outward structure. Points and formations have deeply significant shapes and forms according to how they formed that affect how they transmit energy.

Below are some interesting shapes and their significance to get you started, followed by a complete chart consisting of over 100 shapes and their meanings for referencing purposes.

1. Mother and Child
A Mother and Child Crystal comprises of a large Quartz Crystal with a smaller Quartz Crystal closely attached. This Crystal shape is excellent for promoting nurturing and mothering, and for conceiving a child or a creative project. It can be especially helpful in healing a damaged inner child, and helps you reconnect to the innocent, joyful child you were meant to be.

2. Abundance Crystal
An Abundance Crystal is formed from one long Crystal with many smaller Crystals clustered around its base. It attracts abundance into one’s life. Position an Abundance Crystal in the wealth corner of your home or office (this is the furthest rear left from the front door).

3. Mentor Crystal
A Mentor Crystal can be identified as a cluster of small Crystals and one larger point that the smaller Crystals surround. This Crystal shape attracts a mentor or spiritual teacher into your life. The Mentor Crystal assists in accessing information from the Akashic Record (this is the “storehouse” of all that was and all that will be in the universe). Used in a group environment, the Mentor aids teaching and sharing knowledge in the highest spiritual dimension.

4. Barnacle Crystal
A Barnacle Crystal is when a large Crystal is partially or completely covered by many small Crystals. The large Crystal is said to be the “old soul”, whose wisdom attracts the younger Crystals.

5. Twinflame / Tantric Twin Crystal
The Twinflame Crystal is formed from a pair of Crystals that are the same size, growing from the same base, joined along one side. This Crystal can be programmed to attract a soul partner – a “Twin Flame”. Contrary to popular belief, a soul-mate is some-one that we meet in life who is part of our soul journey and not necessarily our life partner. These relationships are not as easy as one would think, because they tend to carry a lot of past life karma (talk about baggage!). A twin flame, on the other hand, is your perfect match, with whom you will spend the rest of you life, and this relationship is thankfully past life karma-free. Unfortunately this particular Crystal shape is relatively rare – in it’s perfect state both points are the exact same size. The Twinflame or Tantric Twin Crystal should be placed in the relationship corner of your home or your bedroom (this is the furthest right from the door).

6. Record Keeper Crystal
The Record Keeper Crystal has clearly etched pyramids or an incised chevron shape on one of its sides. This Crystal holds spiritual wisdom and accesses both personal and collective insight. Record Keepers are extremely personal crystals and if you are lucky enough to get one, it’s best not to let others handle it.

7. Cross Crystal
One Crystal at a right angle to another, usually larger Crystal creates a Cross Crystal. Stabilizing and centring, the Cross Crystal opens you up to the multiplicity of worlds and assists you in spiritual study. This Crystal formation removes “energy impants” and also clears and activates any chakra.

8. Bridge Crystal
A Bridge Crystal grows out of another, larger Crystal. Just like a bridge, the Bridge Crystal bridges gaps and brings things together. Joining the inner and outer world, the higher self with the ego, or oneself with another. This Crystal is helpful for public speaking, especially when you are trying to communicate new ideas.

CRYSTAL FORMS

1. Point
A Crystal may be one long point (a wand), or have several points (a cluster) or have a point at either end (called a double termination).

– Single Point
In healing, aiming the point away from yourself draws off negative energy, and pointing towards you channels energy into the body.

– Double Termination
A double termination radiates and absorbs energy at both ends at the same time. This is a stone of balance, integrating spirit and matter and creating a bridge between two energy points. These Crystals are great at absorbing negative energy and breaking old patterns like overcoming addictions. Placed on the third eye chakra they help activate our natural telepathy.

– Cluster
Many big or small points forming a group and sharing a base. These Crystals send out energy into the environment and absorb negative energy. You can programme a cluster and leave it in a spot in your home to do its work. They can also be programmed to cleanse other Crystals in a room.

– Geode
A Geode is a cluster formation surrounded by rock, forming a hollow in the middle – like a miniature Crystal cave. These Crystals can hold and amplify energy within themselves, diffusing the energy softly. Geodes are wonderful for protection, spiritual growth, breaking addictions and overindulgent personalities.

– Natural Long Point
This Crystal focuses energy in a straight line. It rapidly transmits energy in healing.

– Phantom
A Phantom Crystal has a ghost-like appearance of another, smaller Crystal within it. This Crystal formed when its growth stopped for some time and a layer of minerals and dust settled on the point before the process continued. These Crystals are useful for putting the past into perspective, pointing the way towards growth and overcoming stagnation or procrastination.

2. Ball (Sphere)
Crystal balls are shaped artificially, however their shape allows energy to radiate in all directions equally. They can be used as a window into the past and future as they move energy through time – this is called “scrying”. The fortune tellers of old were on to something!

3. Square
This Crystal consolidates energy within itself. It’s a great Crystal to anchor intentions and for grounding. They can also draw off negative energy and transform it into positive energy. Flourite and Iron Pyrite can both be found naturally in this form.

4. Pyramid
Pyramids amplify and then tightly focus energy through the apex, and are able to assist you in manifesting (think “The Secret”). They can draw off negative energy and blockages from the chakra and replenish it with vibrant energy. Artificially shaped pyramids enhance and focus the inherent properties of the original Crystal used. Apophyllite is an example of a naturally occurring pyramid form.

5. Egg
Egg-shaped Crystals confine and shape energy and can be used to detect and rebalance blockages in the body. The more pointed end is also great as a massage, reflexology or acupressure tool. They are great “hand comforters” during stressful times.

6. Layered
Crystals that form in layers or plates (like Agate and Lepidolite) are wonderful for working on several levels at once as they spread their energy out in layers. They can help you get to the bottom of things and find resolve.

These crystals foster prosperity and well-being, success, good fortune and all good things in life.  Position an Abundance Crystal in the wealth corner of your home or office (this is the furthest rear left from the front door) to attract abundance into your life.
Activation Crystal	see Time Link Crystals
Activation Crystal  Left	This crystal has an extra inclined facet located to the left of the main face of the crystal (looks like a parallelogram). These crystals are used to activate the right hemisphere of the brain. Some attributes are creativity, imagination, psychic ability, and meditation.
Activation Crystal Right	This crystal has an extra inclined facet located to the right of the main face of the crystal (looks like a parallelogram). These crystals are used to activate the left hemisphere of the brain. Attributes include logic, intellect, and action-orientation.
Arkimer Diamond Crystal	This is a short stout double terminated crystal from the Mount Ida area of Arkansas that has a shape similar to the herkimer diamond from New York, but still has a hardness of 7. It is a stone of attunement and balance, fostering communication in both directions.
Artemis Crystal	See Wand Crystal and Candle Crystal.
Asterism	1. The effect of light rays forming a star, usually created through reflection of light by thin, fibrous or needle-like inclusions that lie in various directions within the mineral; 2. The property of a mineral that displays a 2 or 3 ray star when viewed in a reflected light. This property is though to be caused by microscopic bubbles.
Aura Quartz Crystal	Clear Quartz crystals that have first been heated in a vacuum to extremely hot temperatures, then electrically infused with other chemical(s), usually 24k gold and/or a combination of other chemical elements, to produce a permanently bonded Colour coating. These crystals are known by a variety of names, such as: Aqua Aura, Opal Aura, Copper Aura, Flame Aura, Titanium Aura, Angel Aura, Rose Aura, Aurora, Tanzine, and others. These specialty crystals are known as intense auric cleansers.
Aurora Crystal	This crystal is a clear Quartz crystal that has been chemically enhanced with ionized molecules of pure Titanium. The molecules of Titanium adhere to the Quartz and will not fade or be removed by rubbing. This crystal has the properties of both Quartz and Titanium. It is used during meditation and promotes movement towards self-change.

Barnacle Crystal	Barnacle Crystals are covered or partially covered with smaller crystals. The larger crystal is the “old soul” and contains the wisdom and trust, which attracts the smaller crystals. It’s energy helps to stimulate a group cohesiveness and a willingness to work together. This crystal is a wonderful companion when one is experiencing the loss of a loved one.

Bridge Crystal	The Bridge Quartz Crystal is recognized by a small crystal which penetrates and is located partially in, and partially out, of a larger crystal. It facilitates bridging between the self and others, between the inner and outer worlds, and between the self and other worlds. The crystal aids in expressing that which one experiences when one is becoming more self-aware. It is beneficial when working with spiritual and metaphysical realms and attempting to share this knowledge with others. It is helpful to public speakers who lecture on topics concerning new ideas and avant garde concepts. It is also useful for all types of teaching, promoting communication ties and understanding between teacher and student. This crystal can also be referred to as a Penetrator, a Trigger, or an Inner Child Crystal.
Burr	See Cluster.
Burr Crystal	A crystal cluster with point terminations radiating out in every direction, not just up and out (like a haystack of sorts). High quality large specimens are rare.
Cactus Quartz Crystal	See Spirit Quartz.
Candle Crystal	A long crystal with a sharp, undamaged point, resembling an arrow (ratio of 6 to 1 or greater, length to width). Also known as an Artemis or Diana, this crystal could also be considered just an elongated Generator Crystal. It is very supportive of those who are struggling for independence of all kinds.
Candle Quartz Crystal	This crystal gets its name by the image of wax dribbling down the sides of a candle. This crystal is a type of elestial and is found in Madagascar. It acts to induce sensitivity and prudence. This crystal is a type of elestial Quartz.
Cathedral Crystal	This is a crystal that when held upright all of the facets resemble the spires and towers of a church cathedral. It is part of the elestial family. It helps deal with past emotional situations. This term is used in several contexts: – In reference to clear Quartz, a Cathedral is a crystal that has no upper dividing line between the facet and one of its sides (relatively rare, and often found as the opposite side of the receiver face of a Receiver Crystal). Another usage is that of an upright crystal with all of its facets resembling the spires and towers of a church cathedral. – Amethyst Cathedrals (or Churches) are usually tall, thin geodes (again, resembling church towers) that have been cut to display the sacred inner sanctum of amethyst (and other) crystals.
Cathedral Lightbrary Crystal	Cathedral Lightbraries are Quartz crystals that appear as one large crystal with many smaller crystals contacting and interpenetrating one another and unified in one singly terminated crystal. The crystals that form upon the body of the “mother” are similar to data banks in the sense that they can gather universal knowledge. These data banks are open and clear until conscious thoughts and intentions are projected in them. The energies in the Cathedral Lightbraries project outwards as they stand open to receive the impressions of the universal mind as well as collective thought forms. These crystals are capable of receiving and relaying information. Lightbrary crystals may contain the sacred knowledge of the “Akashic Records”.
Channeling Crystal	The Channeling Quartz Crystal has a large seven sided face located in the centre front position of the terminated end of the crystal and a triangular face located on the opposite side of the crystal. Along with the triangle, there are usually other smaller crystals projecting out of the backside. Seven is symbolic of the student, the mystic, and the seeker of deeper truth. Seven is the number of mystical truths that are realized when detachment is attained. The large seven-sided configuration is the doorway through which inner truth can be revealed. The number three represents the power of speech and the ability to creatively and joyously express. “Channeling” is a word being used frequently today and can mean different things to different people. In reference to the Channeling Crystals, it means channelling and expressing the source of truth and wisdom from the depth of the soul with knowledge and pure intentions. The Channeling Crystals are here to teach us how to tap into the wisdom within ourselves, access truth and then bring that forth through verbal expression. Channeling crystals can be used for meditation, allowing us to gain both inner clarity and wisdom and for getting answers to specific questions. When the large face is held to the brow chakra or rubbed with the thumb, it can help to access intuition. This crystal can also be referred to as a projector, a sending, or a seven-sided crystal. *There is some dispute over the definition of the Channelling Crystal, as some texts note a Master Channeller which they define as having seven facets while a Chaneller is then defined as having seven lines defining the facets. The definition of this Master Channeller is included in this table for inclusionary purposes.
Chatoyancy Crystal	Cat’s-eye effect that resembles the slit eye of a cat and is caused by the reflection of light by parallel fibres, needles or channels. This phenomenon is most effective when the stone is cut into a cabochon, as in cat’s-eye Quartz jewellery.
Chimney Crystal	This crystal is a thin sheet like piece of Quartz that connects two larger points, usually lasers.
Cluster	A cluster is a group of crystals that are physically attached to each other on a matrix (sharing a common base) or floating free. The crystals can be single or double terminated or combinations of both. There may be hundreds of points, or only two, but they live together in an evolved community of peace and harmony. They serve to bring the “group” energy of the associated crystal to the surroundings, enhancing harmony and peace in groups, in the family, and in other social and/or business environments. The energy generated is directly proportional to the number of crystals in the cluster.  The auric light that surrounds a Quartz cluster is very bright and strong, and will bathe an entire area or room in radiance. They can also be used to activate and to cleanse other minerals, enhancing and increasing their energy. They can be placed in areas to purify the environment of negative energies and feelings, and to foster protection, cooperation, purification, harmony, friendship and intimacy. This crystal formation can also be referred to as a plate or burr.
Comet Crystal	A crystal with a number of tiny crater-like indentations on one or more sides, ending in a spray trailing behind (like the tail of a comet). This crystal is a great aid to being in sync with the entire universe and seeing the “big picture”.
Consumption Crystal	A rare form of Quartz that appears as one crystal engulfing or consuming another. This crystal is a stone for progression and allows for a liberal flow of emotions.
Crater Crystal	A crystal that at one time had another crystal(s) attached to one of its sides. The missing crystal left behind a crater-like depression. These crystals symbolize our capacity to detach, let go, and continue on.
Creator Crystal	A larger crystal with a tiny completely formed crystal growing deep within. Creator Crystals remind us there is always a seed of creation available to us whenever we want to bring something new into our lives.
Cross Crystal	A formation of two crystals attached to each other in the shape of a cross. This very rare formation is a world teacher and provides guidance when studying spirituality, the arts, and sciences. This crystal is a tool of the light worker, assisting in the removal of unwanted implants. It represents the idea of multiplicity while stabilizing the centre of the self, allowing for an uninterrupted connection with the ethereal perfection.
Crystal	A solid mass of mineral, having a regular geometric shape and bounded by smooth, flat surfaces (crystal faces).
Crystallography	The study of crystals, including their growth, structure, physical properties, and classification by form.
Curved Crystal	Crystals which have a curved shape or which the sides are curved.  Produced during the developmental stages, this is a rare occurrence.  They emanate a gentle yet powerful energy and can be used to cleanse the aura, promote flexibility in ones attitude, and provide strength in decisions, among other things. Allows access to the interior of the physical body and provides for a continuous alignment of the nervous system.
Dendritic Crystal	This is a crystal that contains branch-like inclusions, which resemble a moss or a plant like form. It facilitates closeness with nature and stimulates recall of past lives relative to this earth.
Devic Crystal	A crystal that contains multiple internal fractures and inclusions of trapped water, air and gases (often called wispy veils or fairy frost). These crystals can be any shape, formation, or size, and do not even have to have terminations. This crystal helps us to communicate with the Devas and Elfin folk, or nature spirits that cohabit this earth with humans.
Devic Temple Crystal	Devic Temple crystals can be the temporary vehicles through which spiritual guides can find expression and offer wisdom, insight and blessings into our lives. These crystals are usually single generators. What distinguishes them from other crystals is their internal inclusions and markings on the body and the faces. The inner inclusions display impressions of other worlds, temples, or faces or outlines of beings inside the crystal. The body of these crystals may exhibit clearly defined doorways or avenues of entry or ascending steps and/or lines on the body of faces. These crystals enable beings on the inner planes to connect with the material world and for human beings to contact the angels. These crystals symbolize inner sanctums of the self where one can find the peace and inner reflection and where communication with the self can occur. The purpose of working with these crystals is to receive higher guidance and direction that will assist you to go within and become more aware of your true identity and more connected to your own source.

Dogtooth Crystal	The Dogtooth crystal is a nearly diamond shaped, elongated shaped crystal with two opposing faces and sides. They resemble dog teeth. May occur after Calcite has eroded due to an over abundance of water current. The rock crystal then forms in its place. Useful as a meditation stone and focus tool. Very earthy, very grounding. Can assist in facing fears, acknowledging them and letting them go. This spiky specimen reminds us that only we can stay stuck.
Dolphin Crystal	This crystal has a smaller crystal attached to its side and seems to be riding along. It symbolizes the protective and loving energy radiated towards those who are vulnerable and defenceless. Use these crystals to attune to the water dwellers of our planet, and to protect the young, the defenceless, the sensitive, the innocent the gentle, meek, and small. This crystal formation is also known as a mother crystal, mother and child crystal, or teaching crystal. This Crystal shape is excellent for promoting nurturing and mothering, and for conceiving a child or a creative project. It can be especially helpful in healing a damaged inner child, and helps you reconnect to the innocent, joyful child you were meant to be.
Double Terminated Crystal	A crystal that has a natural single termination on each end. When the six faces of Quartz join together to form a point, a terminated crystal is born. When there are terminations on both ends, the Double Terminated Crystal is created. Instead of growing out of a hard rock surface as single terminations are formed, they grow in the centre of soft clay. They teach us balance. They symbolize patience and perseverance. The energy flows in both directions at once, and can draw or transmit energy through both ends. These doubly powerful crystals are great for astral projection. They are excellent to place under our pillow at night to increase and intensify the dream state. They are good stones to use in meditation. They can help refine telepathic powers and can be used to link together individual minds and thoughts. Carrying a double terminated crystal can enable us to maintain our energy shield. Double terminated crystals are very useful in healing because they can move energy in two directions at the same time and can act as a bridge between two energy points. They’re useful in unblocking negative energy and are an excellent all around balancing tool. These Crystals are great at breaking old patterns like overcoming addictions. Placed on the third eye chakra they help activate our natural telepathy.
Dow Crystal	A crystal that has a termination with three perfect triangle facets, separated by three seven-sided facets. Not all these crystals have even sided symmetrical faces. This special crystal manifests perfect geometry in the termination, alternating between triangles and seven-sided faces. It is a combination of the Channelling crystal and the Transmitter crystal, but serves an even greater purpose than the combined effects. The ratio of these crystals is 7:3:7:3:7:3, with the triangle marking the back face of the channeling crystal being the same triangle in the center of a transmitter crystal. The symmetrical patterning of the Dow Crystal is unique among all crystalline forms. The Dow crystal, existing in its state of perfection, is a most valuable tool to work with in the actualization of Christ Consciousness upon this earth. It allows access to the records relating to each question or thought and, even without focussing, provides intuitive awareness in all situations. It can be used to express the deepest inner truth, as well as being capable of receiving, containing, and projecting programmed information. It is the crystal for creativity and service to humanity through both spiritual and mystical pursuits. Numerological Meaning: The faces comprising the Dow are all 7 sided or 3 sided. Seven is symbolic of the ultimate inner truth that is attained when the seeker looks within the inner sanctums of the self. Three represents the trinity and the expression and manifestation of that inner truth. The total of the three seven sided faces and the three triangles is 30 (7×3 + 3×3), which can be reduced to a single three. Thirty signifies the trinity in the constant motion of a circle. The circle contains within it everything that comes into being in the cycle of creation; the totality of expression, from alpha to omega, from life to death and rebirth. The sum thirty pertains to the wheel of life. In relationship to this crystal, all facets of one’s being and life can be positively affected. Geometry: Of all the Quartz crystals, this configuration manifests the most perfect geometry. Its symmetrical patterning is unique. Recognizing the perfection in the mineral kingdom through this crystal, helps us to see the possibility that we can also physically manifest that state of integrity, unity, balance and order. It also sends the message that in order to manifest divinity (triangles), we must first access our own inner truth (septagons).
Drusy	Drusy appears as a “crystal dusting” on the clusters and points . This coating is actually an encrustation of minute projecting crystals, usually of the same material. Drusy Quartz Crystals are one of the best energy tools for working through any self-exploration. They stimulate the exactness of the energy of the mineral and help fortify personal strength. Drucy crystals encourage ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow. To determine the vibratory number, add 24 to the sum of the number representing each letter of the name of the other mineral.

Earthkeeper Crystal	These crystals are buried deep within the earth, and can weigh several hundred pounds to several tons. They are the giants of the crystal clan, and most have not yet been located by humans.
Egalitarian Crystal	See Parity Crystal.
Egg	Egg-shaped Crystals confine and shape energy and can be used to detect and rebalance blockages in the body. They are great “hand comforters” during stressful times. This shape, usually fabricated, is extremely versatile, and has been used in reflexology, zone-therapy, acupressure, shiatsu and aura reading.
Elestial Crystal	This crystal is recognized by natural terminations that have formed over the body and face of a crystal. These flowing terminations (usually not sharp) have formed over the faces and body of the crystal, and are usually tabular, rectangular or square, with rounded corners. Markings/etchings on the surface can have the appearance of cryptic hieroglyphics, a cosmic alphabet of sorts. Many elestials have a smoky look and appear to have been burned by fire. The youngest form of Quartz on earth, it is unlike any other form of Quartz. The Elestial is the enchanted crystal. Their source is beyond time itself and their origin is the celestial realm. They represent the air. They can take us deep within the self, to connect with that which is the innermost truth. The Elestials bear geometric patterns which in and of themselves state profound laws of the universe. It is as if the symbols of a cosmic alphabet have been written and formed in these crystals. These crystals stabilize brain wave frequencies and neutralize erratic confused thought forms, resulting in an expanded state of awareness. Elestials can bring to the surface that which needs to be dealt with and cleansed, and make us aware of that which is preventing us from experiencing truth, from a detached perspective. They can teach us to understand the true nature of our feelings and the importance of learning to express our feelings in the moment that we feel them. Empathic Crystal	Empathic crystals are damaged or flawed in some way.  They can be can be oddly shaped, unclear, and/or with chips or breaks and are often considered unattractive through no fault of their own. They promote understanding, compassion, kindness and empathy.  They open and heal the hearts of those who have closed them while also protecting the open-hearted from too much pain. As their name implies, these crystals permit us to grow in compassion for the suffering of others.

Enhanced Crystal	Crystals that have been put through a process to change or improve the crystal in some way, often affecting the colour of the crystal.
Enhydro Crystal	A crystal included with bubbles or pockets containing fluid. Also known as a Level Crystal, this container of an ancient element helps us access physical time: past, present, future. It brings the healing fluid to the parched withering roots of ones life.
ET Crystal	See Extra-Terrestrial Crystal.
Etched Crystal	The Etched crystal appears to have abrasions or frosting on the outer layer resembling hieroglyphics. This crystal is used to facilitate contact with and transfer of information relevant to ones life at the present time from the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Lemuria and Atlantis. They were once used in the healing temples of these ancient civilizations and their markings contain information of their experiences and healing methods. It is a personal meditation crystal and can assist in opening many doors. If one is meant to experience an Etched Quartz crystal, the universe will provide one. The crystal that comes into ones possession will contain information which will be beneficial to ones personal development and/or which will assist one in helping another.
Extra-Terrestrial Crystal	The ET crystal has a single termination at one end and multiple terminations on the other (looks like a rocket ship). These crystals can spray out energy and also take in large amounts of energy. Good choices for entrepreneurs, these crystals are exceptional energy rechargers and personal motivator. Extra Terrestrial crystals remind us that we are all individuals within the one. It helps us to build and maintain self confidence and courage. This type of crystal is said to facilitate communication with extra terrestrial beings, celestial beings and guardian angels.
Face	A flat outer surface of a natural crystal, usually referring to the surfaces from the body to the termination. The words “facet” and “face” are commonly used interchangeably.

Faden-Line Crystal	This crystal has an inclusion of one or more white thread-like fibrous formations, possibly curved, and located near the center of the crystal. This crystal is rare, and facilitates attunement between self and others.
Fairy Frost Crystal	Clear crystal with fractures and inclusions within. Helps facilitate communication with the spirits in nature and to open our hearts to the beauty and magic of nature.
Female Crystal	This is a general reference to a crystal that is milky or cloudy in appearance. This crystal reacts in a calm and rational way.
Foil	See Fracture.
Fracture	Also known as a foil, this is an interior breakage or splintering of crystal in no particular direction, often the source of beautiful reflective rainbow colours.
Generator Crystal	The rare and much sought after Generator crystal has all six crystal faces joining together sharply to form the terminating apex – a near-perfect point. This powerful crystal is “THE” Quartz crystal for energy generation and projection. Their perfected geometric form allows for the focus and proper distribution of this energy into the lives of the people working with them and receiving their healing energy. Generator Crystals are extraordinary meditation tools. They will also intensify and direct energy. They can teach us how to concentrate, focus and magnify our own healing energy. These crystals demonstrate how to channel the radiant light force into our beings and onto our world. They foster wisdom, focus, magical power and the wisdom to use the crystal in a proper manner. They can be as small as 1/4″ and as large as three feet. No matter their size, they are power pieces and should always be used with respect and knowledge.

Geode	A rock opening, usually a round hollow created by gas bubbles in magmatic rock or spaces where organic material has been removed in sedimentary material. The nodules are lined with crystals, usually Quartz or Calcite. Amethyst is commonly seen in geode form. These Crystals can hold and amplify energy within themselves, diffusing the energy softly. Geodes are wonderful for protection, spiritual growth, breaking addictions and overindulgent personalities.
Golden Healer Crystal	This is a Quartz crystal, which is partially or completely covered with a transparent golden-yellow mineral, iron oxide. This is an excellent stone for use in all healing situations.
Grounding Crystal	A crystal with eight sides surrounding the largest face is called a Grounding crystal. They are quite rare. This is a moderately powerful crystal, used in very practical, down-to-earth matters. Grounding crystals help us to deal with practical matters in a logical and clear-headed way, attuning us to Earth energies and preventing our thoughts from becoming “scattered”. Being grounded helps us to deal with the practical or realistic aspects of life. When used in meditation, they allow us to form a strong connection with higher knowledge, but keep us grounded so that we apply that information in a practical sense. When using a grounding crystal to work through a personal problem, remember that it will require us to look at the truth of the situation and compel us to deal with that truth.
Growth Interference	A crystal that has indentations on the outside of it caused by another crystal growing against it, similar to the Crater Crystal.

Gwindel Crystal	This is a cluster of double-terminated tabular/tabby crystals that are stacked on top of each other in a unique twisted and spiral-like formation.
Harlequin Crystal	This crystal is included with red and silver specs and/or strings of hematite or lepidocrocite and titanium. Displaying great dancing energy, it provides physical energy and vitality to the physical body and stimulates the healing qualities of the heart.

Herkimer Diamond	A small stout/barrel shaped double terminated crystal – not a diamond at all! They are found in Herkimer County, New York. They are clear/bright to smoky/bright and may contain rainbows. They have a hardness of 7.5 instead of 7.0. They energize and enliven all who keep them near. Their energy helps one begin again in this lifetime. These crystals are the power horses of the crystal clan, no matter the size, and true Herkimers are becoming difficult to find in the marketplace.

Included Quartz Crystal – Chlorite	Any crystal with chlorite inclusions. These crystals promote celestial contact with the highest order of angels. Chlorite is one of the most favorable healing stones.  Worn, carried or placed in ones environment, or used as an elixir, the properties of chlorite are overwhelmingly positive. It attacks anger, hostility, and exasperation, and dissipates the dissenting energy. It brings the energy to enhance cooperation and stimulates ones personal affinity with “All”.  It is a purifier and is quite useful for cleansing the aura, the chakras, and the energy meridians.
Included Quartz Crystal	1. Quartz that has another mineral(s) included within it; 2. Quartz that has any of the following included within its interior: foreign particle or mineral, organic inclusion, liquid or gas, irregularity in the crystal lattice, colour striations, breaks and splits. Inclusions are usually not considered flaws, but rather individual character traits that give each crystal its unique identity. When one is attracted to and uses included Quartz, the Quartz inclusion will work with the person to provide the further nourishment and qualities required. The properties of each different inclusion works hand in hand with the properties of the Quartz. Usually the chlorite and hematite included Quartz provide the most powerful healing-type of included Quartz.
Included Quartz Crystal – Manganese	The Colour of manganese inclusions range from metallic grey to grey-black to black.  It is a mineral of bonding, bringing others closer and activating the energies of cooperation in group efforts.  It furthers a firm impenetrable resolve, such that that which one initiates, one completes.

Irradiated Crystal	An artificially treated crystal that has been subjected to bombardment by atomic energy/radiation. This treatment/enhancement is usually done to improve the intensity of colour, such as in Smoky Quartz and Blue Topaz.
Isis Crystal	These crystals have five sides surrounding the largest sloping face. The arrangement of the faces is said to symbolise Isis the Egyptian Goddess and can put you in touch with the power of the Goddess. These crystals strongly amplify feminine energy and are powerful healing crystals. An Isis Crystal can help both women or men to get in touch with their “female” or unselfish side. For men, the Isis crystal will help to become more in tune with their feminine side and to become more aware of the aspects in women that they find troubling. Women can work with the Isis crystal to help them regain some of that power and energy that society has taken away from them.

Japan Twin Crystal	A crystal in which two single crystals, usually broad flattened prisms (and one a penetration twin), are joined in the same plane at an angle of about 84 degrees. This is an excellent crystal for clearing the auric field.

Jewelry Points	These are small crystals that are bright/clear and with a perfect point. They are used to make pendants and earrings.
Key Crystal	The key crystals will have a three-sided or six-sided indented shape located on the crystal. This indent becomes narrower as it goes within the crystal and ends within the crystal, usually in an apex termination. The Key crystal is used to unlock the “doors” to healing concepts and to those aspects of the self which tends to be illusive. It can assist in accessing that which is hidden in any situation. It further helps one to answer questions like “why can’t I…?” Key crystals can assist in analytical problem solving. Placing the crystal on a textbook, which contains the information necessary to arrive at a solution, has stimulated the inner knowledge of the answer.
Laser Wand	A long slender crystal with pronounced tapering toward a small, sharp point/termination.  The crystal is wider at the base than at the tip and their sides are usually uneven, curved or bent looking. Many lasers also have some etching. They have a slightly ancient, “used” look. Laser Wands have an intimate relationship with inner and outer worlds and can be used during meditation to establish a finer communication with the other worlds, the crystalline world, and the inner world of the self. These crystals radiate a lovely energy and have been recognized as a constant source of the brilliant white light. When holding a wand, the energy tends to surround the body, providing for a protective barrier. The energy of the laser wand crystal is extremely well focused through the small termination and is wonderful for concentrating a tight beam of energy on a small area or to stimulate an area hidden within the body such as a gland. It can be used to clear an area of negativity, to create protective barriers, and to beam healing energy to the self or another. Laser Wands were once used in the healing temples of Lemuria. The crystals that have unique etchings and/or markings indicate the records of the experiences they have seen. They are said to contain information with respect to the healings which have been proven successful over the eons of time and throughout the universe.
Laser Wand – Reversed	The Reversed Laser Wand has a true taper from the termination to the base and carries additional qualities. These crystals have been used to bring forth an arrangement of the divine order of personal life, the sacred order upon, and within, the Earth and the celestial order of the universe. The Reversed Laser facilitates the concepts of organization and systematic resolutions and helps us to implement these resolutions. They can be used for opening the chakras, for both the self and of another simultaneously. This quality tends to promote a connection that is truly conducive to the successful actualization of healing. They can help us to reach out to others in the spirit of “brotherhood” and love. Layered Crystal	Crystals that form in layers or plates (like Agate and Lepidolite) are wonderful for working on several levels at once as they spread their energy out in layers. They can help you get to the bottom of things and find resolve.
Left-Handed Crystal	A Quartz crystal with an extra face on the left side of the largest face. This means that the crystal spiral within the crystal itself flows naturally to the left. This crystal is naturally most receptive to incoming energy when held in the left hand or held on left side of the body.

Library Crystal	1. A crystal that has many newer, flat, stubby crystals attached to the outside surface of the larger crystal – overgrowths often resembling a thick layer of plaster; 2. A crystal that has many record-keeper triangles on the main face of the termination. This crystal is a carrier of many volumes of information, akin to the Record Keeper Crystal. These are very old crystals that contain wisdom and knowledge that will be needed in many many areas of concern.

Male Crystal	This is a general reference to a crystal that is clear. It acts in a quick and straight forward manner.
Manifestation Crystal	The Manifestation crystal is a Crystal with a smaller crystal totally enclosed within it. These crystals are very rare. To use the manifestation crystal requires an inner knowledge that we are clear and perfect channels, that a pure white light provides the guiding way, and that the purity of the Divine is within the inner self. If we wish to use the crystal to manifest something, we must be clear about what we want. We must clear any feelings of ambivalence and any inner turmoil prior to using this crystal. These crystals can also be used to facilitate artistic creativity, creative thinking, agricultural pursuits, and to increase or decrease any aspect of ones life. It is so beautiful to see a crystal encased within another. Perhaps the fascination in this is that we can behold a crystallized example of a being growing within another being. A visual of life renewing! A visual of a whole within a whole! There is something else here also – that to become an individual – a separate entity – we must take up “space”. There is a beautiful sharing here, because for us to “take” up space – that “space” must be made for us – given to us. If we look at the manifestation crystal we see that part of one crystal is “given” to allow a new presence to emerge. Often times when this presence emerges – there is a shattering – a “breaking” through – an explosion of sorts, creating fractures as well as rainbows!
Master Channeling Crystal	**See Channelling Crystal** A rare crystal with seven facets instead of five or six. This is not the same as a Channeling Crystal that has seven lines defining the facets. These seven facets represent the mystic student, the spiritual seeker. This crystal will help you receive information from your teaching masters.
Master Matrix Crystal	A crystal with most, if not all, of the known geometric shapes etched naturally on the outside (or inside) of the crystal. This crystal is a master programmer used to recharge, expand, or reboot Record Keeper Crystals. Although not usually beautiful crystals, these gems are extremely rare.
Matrix	The host rock in which a crystal is embedded.
Mentor Crystal	A Mentor Crystal can be identified as a cluster of small Crystals and one larger point that the smaller Crystals surround. This Crystal shape attracts a mentor or spiritual teacher into your life. The Mentor Crystal assists in accessing information from the Akashic Record (this is the “storehouse” of all that was and all that will be in the universe). Used in a group environment, the Mentor aids teaching and sharing knowledge in the highest spiritual dimension.

Metamorphic Rocks	This is a rock that has been altered from its original form by changes in temperature, pressure, or the presence of fluids. The minerals of the original rock re-crystalize to form new minerals that are now stable under these new conditions. This is a beautiful physical, crystallized example of the spiritual transformations that we experience in our lives after physical and emotional changes (changes to our physical body, changes outside our body like a move or career change, and loss). These “life altering/metamorphic” experiences cause us to “transform” – to become who we need to be to deal with our new circumstances – and to fulfil our purpose.
Mineral	A naturally occurring, inorganic, solid constituent of the earth’s (or other celestial body’s) crust. Most minerals have definite chemical compositions and crystal structures.

Muse Crystal	A cluster with nine similarly sized crystals which represent the nine Greek goddesses who preside over the arts. This crystal enhances all forms of creative expression. They open our eyes to the beauty around us.
Mythic Crystal	This is an opaque Milky/Snow Quartz double-terminated crystal. The mythic crystal permits us to move back and forth in history to unravel the great myths, tracking both earth’s history and personal history. It provides fore-knowledge of the direction we must travel.
Natural Carved Crystal	The natural carved Crystal is recognized by the existence of a carved triangular face which outlines the face and is etched such that the location of the engraved portion is normally white in appearance. This crystal can help one to obtain extra-terrestrial information which is beneficial to ones growth and to the growth and increased awareness of our planet. It is a tool for the transfer of information between the self and others who reside on other planes of existence. In addition, this crystal has been used to stimulate the recognition of details related to earth changes, astrological significance, and weather patterns. It has further been used for dowsing.
Natural Curved Crystal	The Curved Quartz Crystal is produced during the developmental stages of growth and is rather a rare occurrence. When this crystal is placed in our energy field it provides for a continuous alignment of the physical meridians and the nervous system and the alignment of the physical, emotional, mental, etheric, astral, etc. bodies, singularly and with one another. The curved Quartz crystal emanates a gentle, yet powerful energy and can be used to cleanse the aura, to promote flexibility in ones attitudes, and to provide strength to ones decisions. It allows one to see the inner workings of any situation and to understand the superficial and the deeper meanings inherent in it. It also allows one to access the interior of the physical body in order to understand existing disorders, providing information with respect to the “fix”.
Naturally Radiated Crystal	Naturally radiated crystals have been exposed to electromagnetic radiation in their natural growth process and have not only survived, but have become more valuable because of it. These crystals will strengthen the auric field and stabilize the physical system in order to provide protection against the present damaging effects of nuclear radiation.
Needle Crystal	A long, clear, extremely thin and narrow crystal, four times as long as wide. Although fragile, this crystal is used to direct energy movement with precision, and is often used in alternative healing processes.
Numerological Crystal	Any Quartz crystal with clearly defined faces/facets. Count the lines that create the outline of each face (count each only once), add them up. Then add those two digits together to get the master number to which the crystal resonates.
Occluded Crystal	The Occluded crystal is a type of formation which proceeded in spite of an overabundance of other materials, resulting in a crystal which may appear to be made entirely of something else. This can happen particularly with chlorite and /or sand. This crystal reminds us that everything is not always as it appears to be at first glance. Use this crystal when you are working on being less judgmental of yourself and others. This is definitely a piece to use when working on issues of self esteem and self empowerment.
Opal Aura Crystal	This is a clear Quartz crystal that has been “man-enhanced” with ionized molecules of pure Platinum. The molecules of Platinum adhere to the Quartz and will not fade or be removed by rubbing. This crystal cleanses the aura and all chakras.

Phantom Quartz Crystal	A crystal containing the growth outline, or image, of another crystal inside. The phantom is comprised of a white or coloured mineral, partial or complete, and often appearing very wispy and ghost-like. This is caused by another mineral settling on the crystal. The crystal begins to grow again leaving the appearance of a ghost-like crystal inside. The Phantoms within a crystal provide an indication of the experiences, and the transformations, which the crystal has encountered during its evolution. The Phantom crystal has experienced numerous lifetimes of learning and “being”, while continuing in the same physical configuration. This crystal is a reminder that we, too, can grow beyond our expectations, and are protected during times of new growth. The crystal represents the many phases and the many types of life which may be experienced during ones lifetime. The Phantom crystal can assist in connecting with the higher realms of knowledge within the records of ones progression through past lives. In addition, it will provide further energy in healing the emotional and physical situations which may be of consequence to the knowledge gained from this regression. The Phantom can be used to assist in meeting and communicating wit our personal spiritual guide. It is one of the earth stones and symbolizes universal awareness and can be used for redemption and cleansing of the earth. The energy of the phantom works to bring together the participants of humanity to save the planet.
Phantom Quartz Crystal – Red	Red Phantom Quartz crystals additionally contain the properties of limonite, kaolinite and Hematite. These crystals are rare. In addition to the properties discussed above, the Red Phantom produces vitality directed toward creativity, intellectual advancement and intuitive endeavours. It provides for stimulation of the cellular structure of the body. This crystal will be made available to those who are ready for its complex powers.
Phantom Quartz Crystal Black	Black Phantoms are very unusual. They provide the energy of the Quartz, coupled with the property of grounding through the perfect alignment of the physical energy centres. When using a Black Phantom, we do not need an additional stone for grounding.
Picture Window Crystal	A slightly rounded and egg-shaped Quartz that has been tumbled (originally a natural process occurring in the riverbeds of Brazil). Point	This term refers to a single crystal with one termination. These crystals are carried, worn as jewelry, and used in healing layouts.

Pyramid	Pyramids focus and amplify energy through their shape and molecular structure of the crystal from which they are made. The pyramid focuses energy in a tight beam through the apex and has been used to both charge and preserve objects. The energy taken on by the pyramid depends upon what type of crystal it is formed from. They can draw off negative energy and blockages from the chakra and replenish it with vibrant energy. Artificially shaped pyramids enhance and focus the inherent properties of the original Crystal used. Apophyllite is an example of a naturally occurring pyramid form.
Quantum Crystal	This is a powerful cluster of three or more double-terminated Quartz crystals of equal or nearly equal size and length, naturally joined together. They help us realize that our senses are not limited. This crystal has the power to influence what quantum physics currently calls “probability waves”, which is exceptionally useful in helping alter the probable statistical outcome of any situation.
Rainbow Crystal	Some crystals contain internal fractures (foils) which have certain prismatic effects which produce powerful rainbows with the crystal, giving additional energy which is lacking in a clear specimen. These crystals bring rainbows into ones life and are very special gifts. These crystals are natural promoters of happiness, hope, optimism, peace, courage, creativity and awakens us to the beauty in Nature. . Rainbow crystals are master depression fighters. Receiver Crystal	A crystal with one broad, upward-sloping face. These crystals are great receivers of energy and dreams, and make a great companion for a Generator Crystal.
Receiver-Generator Crystal	Any Generator Crystal with one face that slopes inward more than the other five faces (unlike a true Generator that has six equidistant faces). These crystals simultaneously receive and project energy, and are considered great multi-functional tools.
Record Keeper Crystal	A Record Keeper crystal has one or more etched or raised geometric figure/s – usually perfect triangle/s, located on one or more of the crystal faces. These figures will often appear after awhile, even if they were invisible at first inspection. Besides Quartz, Record Keepers can be found on a few rare Ruby or Sapphire crystals. Wisdom is contained in these crystals. When one properly attunes to this crystal, the ancient knowledge and profound secrets of the universe can be retrieved. These crystals are said to have been consciously and purposely programmed by psychic beings and their decendants, such as the Atlanteans and Lemurians. With an open mind and a pure heart, we can access this information. The information provided by the Record Keeper enhances our light, provides for a deeper access to personal wisdom, and promotes a greater peace to be used in this world. If one is meant to experience a Record Keeper, the universe will provide one. Right-Handed Crystal	A crystal with an extra face on the right side of the largest face. Here, the energy flows naturally to the right. These crystals are excellent tools for any activity requiring intellectual or analytical abilities, and make good companion crystals for the Left-Handed Crystal.
Rock	With regard to gems, a rock is a natural aggregate of two or more minerals.
Rock Crystal	Another name for clear Quartz crystal.
Rutilated Crystal	Quartz that is included with hair-like needles (straight or curved), usually golden yellow or red in Colour. These “hairs”, are usually straight and composed of Hematite, Rutile, Goethite or Sagenite.  It has been known to represent both the lovely hair of Venus and the “sweet” tipped arrows of love.  It has been likened to the appearance of wheat straw and angel hair.  The ethereal aspects of rutile bring strength with love, ease in transition, growth in all avenues of ones development, and calm, reason and order. Rutile is used for healing and balancing the aura via repelling negative energy.  It affects the physical, etheric and astral bodies.  It assists one in getting to the root of a problem and hence, provides for access to the reason for a dis-ease , so that one can remedy the situation.  It is a stone for stabilizing relationships, marriages, mental processes, and emotional and physical imbalances.  Very beautiful, rutilated Quartz can assist in getting to the root of any problem.
Scanner Crystal	A crystal with one or more wide flat sides (usually not a Tabular/Tabby, but it could be). Scanners are not particularly beautiful, but can be used to scan the energy of just about anything.
Scepter Crystal	This is a crystal that is naturally formed around and is penetrated by a rod/a crystal with a thinner rod extending from the base/a crystal with overgrowth capping it’s terminated point – a royal scepter look. These crystals were said to have been used in Atlantis and Lemuria in healing ceremonies. They were a symbol of the power of the realm and were carried or worn by the “high priest/priestess”. The Sceptre crystal brings the spirituality of the higher planes in the healing ceremonies and focuses the energy deep within the “heart” of the matter. Symbolizing sovereignty and authority, these crystals directly link several chakras, transmit directional energy, and represent all sky deities.
Scepter Crystal – Reversed	If the Sceptre is in reversed form, it is referred to as “Reversed Sceptre”, which activates the same properties and further serves to return the healing energy to the user. It can also be used to produce a state of mind, which is free from impressions. It allows us to see the duality of our nature, rectifying the negative and building the positive.
Scrubber Crystal	A crystal cluster whose points are all even and nearly equal in length. A scrubber is beneficial in scrubbing down the energy around you, especially when surrounded by negative energy or illness.

Selene Crystal	A crystal that contains a rounded inner inclusion, reminiscent of any phase of the moon. Named for Selene, ancient goddess of the moon, a Selene Crystal is soothing, calming, and a great psychic stimulator.
Self-Healed Crystal	The Self-Healed crystal is one that was separated from a secure base or was damaged during growth, but continued to reach the inherent natural state of perfection by forming smaller terminated faces. These faces together appear like a lace type design of finished edges. Another type of Self-Healed crystal is one which has been broken on the horizontal plane, with the break being healed and the crystal structure being again complete. This particular type of Self-healed crystal is a master in the art of self-healing. Having learned to heal itself, this type of crystal can lend this knowledge to the user and can share the experience of self-healing. This crystal can also used to heal others. The Self-Healed crystal takes situations which appear to be devastating, and helps them to fulfil themselves. These are also called Hera crystals.

Shaman Dow Crystal	A Dow (See Dow Crystal) crystal that also contains a white phantom. This phantom (See Phantom Quartz Crystal) represents a template of the individual soul.
Shard Crystal	A crystal that is broad, flat, and layered in a plate-like mass rather than in the usual six-sided hexagonal crystal. Shards can also be pieces of Quartz, and come in all sizes and shapes. These are fragments of crystals that have completely healed themselves.  They are completely terminated and can be curved and elestial in appearance.  They share many properties of the Self-Healed Crystal, and assist us in transforming, building a new life, dreaming and transforming our lives.
Sheet Quartz Crystal	Crystals that form in flat layers. It has been used as a window to other dimensions. Also called Lens Quartz.
Shovel Crystal	A crystal with one long shovel-shaped face. It can be used to assist us in finding solutions. It can help us to come to information which will assist us in our progress towards resolution. It provides encouragement to gather knowledge throughout the travels of life. It encourages lasting impressions of desirable experiences and hinders lasting impressions of undesirable experiences, without allowing us to forget the lessons learned from these experiences. The Shovel Crystal differs from a Spade Quartz in that the main face is longer than that of a Spade.
Singing Crystal	A crystal similar to a Laser Crystal, but normally smaller. Touched by another Singing Crystal, a beautiful sound resonates and is said to create the powerful “OM” vibration, stimulating our creative forces. They help bring joy to ones life and encourage you to move to the rhythm of your own drum.
Skeletal Crystal	**See Elestial Quartz** This is a crystal that has an inner structure with planes and open spaces. It appears as though the crystal has a skeleton. Because of this configuration the crystal is lighter in weight than normal. Assists one in decision-making and furthering ones assertiveness, facilitates “luck” in bringing good fortune.
Smelted Quartz	This Quartz has been refashioned by a man-made process of melting raw, natural Quartz at high temperatures, mixing in a few additives (copper, for one), then cooling and shaping it into its new form (spheres are a common choice). Resulting crystals are frequently of high clarity, and often contain beautiful fluffy, cloud-like inclusions. Not-so-beautiful Quartz is given this wonderful opportunity to become more than it could ever be on its own, resulting in beautiful art pieces to be treasured forever.

Soul Mate Crystal	See Twin Crystal.
Spade Crystal	These crystals have one or more of its faces which resemble a “spade” (from a deck of playing cards). Similar to a Shovel Crystal, the spade facet is shorter on this Quartz. The Spade crystal brings an insight which allows us to see into the heart of a situation to determine the benefit, or detriment if we continue to participate. It will also help us to connect to the inner strength required for continuing or discontinuing this participation. It is a protective stone for travel, especially by air and can also be used for astral travel. It will also inspire us to have the persistence to maintain “correctness”.
Spiral Crystal	This crystal is recognized by the twisted formation of the body. It assists one in maintaining connection with the physical plane during meditation. A Spiral crystal has been used to activate the movement of kundalini energy through the chakra centres of the physical body.
Spirit Guardian Crystal	This formation is two double-terminated crystals of similar size that are attached. These crystals are a reminder that we are never alone, and facilitate our connection with spirit guardians, guides and teachers in other dimensions.
Spirit Quartz Crystal	A crystal often called Cactus Quartz because it appears as a cactus cluster with stickers or spires sticking out. These crystals can be found on both clear and amethyst Quartz clusters (the amethyst clusters usually display a lavender colour rather than deep purple). Spirit Quartz can be used to strengthen group cohesiveness, generate energy, and assist one when experiencing loss.
Square	This Crystal consolidates energy within itself. It’s a great Crystal to anchor intentions and for grounding. They can also draw off negative energy and transform it into positive energy. Flourite and Iron Pyrite can both be found naturally in this form.
Star Crystal	A star crystal, also known as asterated (See Asterism), has a naturally occurring 4 or 6 ray star which appears when held in direct light. This crystal’s energy brings forth the light of the universe, integrating it with the light of the inner self, so that we may speak, act and perform the will of the Divine.
Striated Quartz	A crystal with shallow, parallel grooves on the side, cleavage planes or face surfaces, sometimes referred to as growth lines.
Tabbie Crystal	See Tabular Crystal.
Tabular Crystal	These crystals are rare flat Quartz crystals with two opposite sides of the 6 sides being larger and wider (usually at least twice as wide as the other sides), with notches on one or both of the flat sides. They are often double terminated and on occasion can be seen in clusters. They are a very high vibration crystal, rarely recognized for the power that is instilled within it. Also known as Tabbies, these crystals are strong, powerful connecting communicators, and are excellent tools for bridging any gaps. Tabular Crystals often become personal meditation pieces or private teacher crystals.Tabulars have a different energy frequency than any other Quartz configuration and their full potential has not yet been properly acknowledge or utilized. Rubbing the fingernail in a “downward” motion across the notches of the Tabbie, produces an opening of the crystal. This opening is similar to opening file drawers and one can then access the information which is contained within the crystal. Closure of this opening is achieved by rubbing the fingernail in an upward motion across the notches. In addition, this crystal is used to activate other crystals and minerals. One way to accomplish this is to hold the Tabbie in the “hand of preference” and to rub the notches in a downward motion, while holding the other stone in the other hand. Tabbies strive to equalize energies. A Tabbie can be held in each hand to balance the energy flow in the body. They are wonderful marriage counsellors, as they help to bridge any gaps in communication or sharing. Double terminated Tabbies can be used in telepathic communication between two like minded people. Tabular crystals often times become personal meditation pieces or private teacher crystals because they establish such a strong link to the higher self and between the heart & mind. They will attract themselves towards the people who can best attune to their frequency and benefit from their power. They smooth energy flow and integration of ideas and balance; facilitate understanding and dialogue between people; and help us communicate with nature.
Tangerine Quartz	A crystal coated with an orangish tangerine-Coloured material (can be Hematite) that is not removed in the usual acid baths. This crystal is commonly used to promote inner self evaluation and evolution. Brings the strength needed to continue any and all pursuits. It enhances creativity, levels your emotions and allows one to integrate with the unkown.
Tantric Twin Crystal	**See Japanese Twin Crystal.** Tantra means union, or the harmonious mergence of energies. Tantric Twins share a common base and yet have two distinct terminations at the apex. Both terminations may or may not be the same height. Sometimes, where the single crystals meet, there will be brilliant fluorescent rainbows. These crystals relate to personal relationships and to the harmonious union of two separate, yet intimately bonded individuals. The ones with rainbows will transmit a sense of joy while replaying the many rays and ways that relationships can be coloured. The Tantric Twins transmit the reality of unity. By holding them, meditating with them, sleeping with them, or just having them around, greater unification starts to take place. In private use, they can bring one closer to the source, or when working with another person, create a closer connection. They can help to balance conflicting relationships, helping us to see that there are always solutions that can be found in resolving disagreements. According to Judy Hall, this Crystal can be programmed to attract a soul partner – a “Twin Flame”. She states that contrary to popular belief, a soul-mate is some-one that we meet in life who is part of our soul journey and not necessarily our life partner. These relationships are not as easy as one would think, because they tend to carry a lot of past life karma (talk about baggage!). A twin flame, on the other hand, is your perfect match, with whom you will spend the rest of you life, and this relationship is thankfully past life karma-free.  The Twinflame or Tantric Twin Crystal should be placed in the relationship corner of your home or your bedroom (this is the furthest right from the door).
Teacher Crystal	A crystal containing the shadow of a shape or form (human or otherwise). These forms are symbolic, personal to the individual using the crystal, and can appear in any other type of crystal personality.

Time Link Crystal	**See Activation Crystals (left- and right-).** Time link crystals can be recognized by a parallelogram adjacent to one of the faces of the crystal. If the parallelogram leans to the left (See Activation Left Crystal), it supports you in achieving your goals. If it leans to the right (See Activation Right Crystal), it is a great tool for sparking your natural inspiration and creativity. Trace the evolution of your essence throughout physical time. It is a seventh facet which empowers the crystal with added dimension and power. Katrina Raphaell believes that the parallelogram is one of the main geometrical teachers at this time and offers a unique expertise in linking simultaneous existences. Time Link crystals are like bridges that the soul can travel upon in order to consciously connect with aspects of the self existing in other times and places. With the help of the Time Link crystals and the soul as a trustworthy guide, past and future identities can be witnessed and ancient heartaches can by healed.
Toning Crystal	A crystal that is most often found as a long, thin, perfectly clear crystal, single or double terminated, with most angles at right angles to one another. Unlike the “used” look of Laser Crystals, Toning Crystals almost appear to be man-made. These crystals are used to intensify, amplify and store sound.

Transformation Crystal	A crystal of any configuration. It won’t be recognized until a change actually occurs in the crystal itself, such as its shape, quality, and/or colour. This crystal is one for progressive change, assisting one in forward movement in all aspects of life. It helps one to replace negative attitudes with positive direction. When transformation takes place in the crystal, a change in colour tends to stimulate activity and healing related to the new colour; a change in shape often indicate the creation of a self-healing crystal; change in quality may signify the addition or elimination of negativity.
Transmitter Crystal	Transmitter Crystals are recognized by a configuration of two symmetrical seven-sided faces with a perfect triangular face located between them. The triangle will always be in the center of the crystal’s faces, with a seven-sided face on either side of it. Transmitters are often Record Keepers as well, and are outstanding tools for sending and receiving telepathic messages. The 7-3-7 combination indicates personal improvement, creativity and manifestation. The combination of the two seven-sided faces brings the qualities of ease, in change and in progress, together with variety in the experience of higher knowledge. The Transmitter can help one to connect to the highest wisdom and one can receive specific information to specific circumstances or one can receive the universal truth necessary for ones growth to enlightenment. It is a communication stone, allowing one to send and receive thought transmissions. As one works with transmitter crystals, it is possible to learn the art of communication by clearly stating your intentions with the assurance that you are ready and willing to incorporate the return energy.

Trigonic Crystal	A crystal with many small triangles on the termination faces, pointing in both directions. The triangles appear wavelike with many overlapping each other. They differ in appearance from record-keepers, which have perfect equilateral triangles. Trigonic crystals are used with life/death triangles.
Tubed Quartz Crystal	This is a crystal with hollow tubes inside. The tubes once contained Epidote that was dissolved. This unusual crystal assists in astral travel and exploration of parallel dimensions. It is a mineral of connection.
Twin Crystal	This crystal is recognized as a growing-together of two or more individual crystals such that certain portions of each crystal are in parallel alignment and other portions of each crystal are in reverse positions with respect to each other i.e. Two similar sized crystals which have grown together and attached side by side. It facilitates the building of relationships on all levels. It promotes the recognition that loves gives freedom. It is also useful for melding the consciousness of groups and for promotion of universal love. They promote tender communication and togetherness and assist in helping us find our soul-mate on a personal level.
Twin Flame Crystal	These are two crystals of similar size that are joined at the base and flare out in a V shape or at their sides. They are similar crystals, but not the same size or length. These crystals help us attract our spiritual partners – kindred souls on a platonic level rather than on a romantic one.
Veil Crystal	A crystal containing thin, cloud-like wispy veils inside of it. Sometimes called Fairy Frost, these veils can appear like silver foils or mirrors, and often reflect prismatic colours/rainbows. Veil Crystals are outstanding meditation tools, especially when two sides of an issue are involved.
Wall Crystal	A crystal with a veil stretching completely across it, dividing it into two sections. This type of crystal is used when simultaneous access to past, present and future is needed.
Wand Crystal	A long slender crystal tapered to a sharp termination, usually longer than three inches. It carries the same capabilities as the Laser Wand, but may not have the same etched appearance. If you are fortunate enough to find one, it will make an excellent meditation and spiritual exercise tool to keep you on your path. It has been referred to as a “psychic knife”, an Artemis, a beauty-way, or a life path crystal.
Warrior Crystal	A crystal (most often a Generator, Laser or Quantum) that has damaged, chipped or broken points. Warrior Crystals often display gorgeous rainbows, reminding us to overcome our “damage” and shine our lights as they do. These power pieces make great vision quest tools.
Whispy Veil Crystal	See Veil Crystal.
Window Crystal	These crystals have a large diamond shaped window located in the centre front of the crystal, such that the top point of the diamond connects with the line leading directly to the termination, the side points connect with the angles forming the opposing faces, and the bottom point connects with a line leading to the base of the crystal. The window actually becomes the seventh face. It may appear as clear or frosted. Not all diamond-faced crystals are Windows. True Window crystals have a “large” diamond shaped face in the centre front of the crystal. They will be apparent and obvious. These crystals are powerful teachers. They are like open windows through which one can see into the essence of the self. They often allow one to become aware of the insecurities which inhibit the expression of the perfect self. They allow for the reflection of ones self-image. These are very personal crystals and grow in power the more they are used. They do not hold impressions or carry records with them. They reflect. In order to incorporate what the Window Crystals will reflect, one must be willing to let go of thoughts, actions, patterns and behaviours that prevent the acceptance of responsibility to live in the truth. Otherwise conflict can arise in one’s life by having seen the soul’s potential yet being unable or unwilling to manifest it. These special crystals will come to a person when he/she is willing to honestly look within the self and to accept the truth. Window crystals have been used to locate “missing persons” and lost items.
X Crystal	Two crystals that have grown together naturally to form an X. These crystals have the special ability to bring female/male energies into harmony, and can be used when a well-balanced decision is needed.
Y Crystal	Two crystals that have grown together naturally to form the letter Y. A great companion piece to the X Crystal, these crystals balance female/male energies and are good tools for developing natural intuition and telepathy.
Yin/Yang Crystal	A crystal that is half masculine & half feminine ( meaning half clear and half cloudy).  Embodies both aspects of the Yin and the Yang, providing balance.
