One thing worth knowing: smoky quartz can lighten gradually with prolonged, direct sun exposure, so it's best not to leave this piece sitting in a sunny window for extended periods. A gentle wipe is all it needs day to day. Since the bail is silver-plated rather than solid sterling, it's especially important to keep it away from chlorine, saltwater, and ultrasonic cleaners, which can wear the plating away faster than they would solid silver.
